Generous contributions continue to flow in to support this crowdfunding campaign to build safe, clean water wells in rural villages in Andhra Pradesh, India. Thank you for your philanthropy.
Each new water well has a profound impact on approximately 1,000 local residents, including one young girl who reports:
“I used to wake up at 5am, use 1 hour to bring water home and leave for school at 6am. I would reach school an hour late. With the new water source, it takes me just 10 minutes to have water home, and I will be at school before 7am.”
Everyone benefits from improved health associated with pathogen-free water, but the women in particular benefit from the wells because they do not have to spend so much time fetching and lugging water from distant sources. Thanks to your support, fresh water in the village saves the women literally hours during their days. So, providing the basic human right of safe water is really an economic development project because the women can spend that time productively, working hard to improve the lives of their families. Thank you.
This is an ongoing fundraiser, and we are working hard to raise funds to build more wells in this area. The beauty of these wells is that they can be completed for less than US$2,000. This capital cost is very low for a drilled well, so BridgIT wants to expand this program to meet the needs of as many villages and people as possible. Fundraising is difficult, so please help by letting your family, friends, colleagues, and social networks know about this crowdfunding campaign. Together we can make a difference for tens of thousands of people.
