"It is not disability that makes life difficult, but the thoughts and actions of others"
During this time NOVA, has worked hard in the growth of an educational system in which each student works at their own pace, highlighting their skills and respecting their individuality, which has allowed each child to be empowered by their own learning.
As you know Nova began its INNOVA program, which consists of providing a training space in manual skills and practices for adolescents with disabilities who are excluded by the educational system because of their intellectual and physical condition. Thanks to this INNOVA program, children have been able to create their first works: handles, cards, chocolates, key chains, napkin rings and start their business and create their first items for sale to the public which has had a good reach in the community.
Nova applying what has been learned in the community assistance program has been able to carry out a “pampa mesa” activity in its planning, which consists of sharing food on a picnic with all of their classmates, this recreational activity allows them for children Choose your friends with criteria, create healthy friendships, overcome shyness, share with others, work as a team and overcome your difficulties in a group.
It has been possible to create an alliance with a group of foreign friends based in Cuenca “MOVE WITH BALANCE”, experts in brain gymnastics for children, adolescents and teachers. Its objective is to educate children in brain gymnastics. This will allow children to stimulate their brain to develop new intellectual, emotional and creative abilities. They are effective in preparing any child to develop concrete coordination and thinking skills. It also provides the teacher with tools to enhance the teaching-learning process. This project will start from next month, we hope to share new stories and experiences of this magnificent project.
