Lilipad is on a mission to improve children's lives by promoting the love of learning and reading. We open children's libraries in marginalised communities and we strive to transform them into safe havens where the children can learn, grow and have fun. Since 2017, we have installed 10+ libraries in Uganda, Morocco, Germany, and France. Our objective for 2023 is to continue growing our reach and impact. Our vision is for every child in our communities and beyond to reach their full potential.
Today, over 250 million children are out of school, while more than half of the children in school are not learning or receiving a quality education. Children in marginalized communities can experience many barriers to quality education, namely the lack of school resources, books, and quality teaching. Such exclusion can lead to a series of hurdles throughout a child's life, and leave them without the basic skills needed to help them break the cycle of poverty and realize their full potential.
Lilipad strives to improve access and quality of education by providing children with books, educational materials, and in-person support and training. We partner with local institutions to intervene at different levels of the education funnel, depending on the needs of the community. Our initiatives always begin with libraries. We see libraries as a haven for access to books and resources to improve people's lives.
This project will reduce educational inequalities and barriers to ensure all children have the same life opportunities. The campaign will support Lilipad's community by increasing educational, inclusive, and culturally relevant access to books. It will also increase engagement and learning. Last but not least, it will contribute to the overall academic and emotional well-being of # of children.
