Project Report | Jul 6, 2023
Organizational Development Training of Buenavista

By Joy Remigio | Project Lead

After the visit and social preparation of the Global Peace Foundation Philippines for the implementation of the project, the Vice President of the Association who acted to lead and drive the follow up of their members to comply with the request of the local government. The Mayor would like them to prepare by capacitating them by the Municipal Agriculturist and take full responsibility of the project and use the facility productively. The acting leader coordinates well with the Municipal Agriculturist. Though connectivity is very challenging, the Vice President is striving to have a video call reporting to give updates.

On June 20, 2023, the Municipal Agriculturist of LGU Palompon convened the membership of Buenavista All-Lights Village Fisherfolks Association to provide a short training in preparation for their reorganization.  She presented the importance of being a member, the value of fulfilling their role and responsibilities followed by a focused-group discussion.

During the meeting, one of the identified areas that is in need to be prioritize is the compliance. Due to pandemic and the distance of Barangay Buenavista to the downtown proper, their compliance to different government offices was not updated. The reorganization is needed to process their compliance renewal.

For now, they found a member with vacant lot who is willing to lend the space for the construction, however, the Mayor would like them to have a member donate that piece of land for the construction of the livelihood center.
