More than building the solar-powered livelihood center, Global Peace Foundation Philippines and the Local Government of Palompon, Leyte continue to work together in empowering the families in Buenavista to be effective in driving the development of their community.
On August 12, the community organization has been re-organized and registered to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as “Buenavista All-Lights Village Association.” The new officers and members are ready and willing to cooperate with the local government unit assigned to lead the capacity-building efforts of the community members in the development of Buenavista focusing on their livelihood.
Palompon Mayor Ramon Oñate also assigned Engr. Isagani Jaena, the municipal planning and development officer of the municipality, to be in-charge of designing the solar powered livelihood center. (Attached is a copy of the layout-design.)
Thanks to your continuous generosity, the construction of the livelihood center will begin in the first quarter of 2019!
