Thank you—we can’t say it enough. Because of your generosity, people struggling after Hurricane Fiona devastated communities from Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to Canada were able to receive food, emergency supplies, mental health services, and other critical support.
Through the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund over the last year, your extraordinary generosity powered more than 40 grants to nearly 24 vetted and community-led nonprofit partners in the GlobalGiving community that are serving survivors of the storm. The Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund enabled each organization to address urgent and long-term needs in the storm’s wake and gave our team the opportunity to establish new trusted partnerships in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, enhancing preparedness for future disasters in the affected areas.
The GlobalGiving team recently completed the final round of grants to our community of partners that continue to serve storm-affected communities. Here are three examples of the important work that your donation has fueled in response to Hurricane Fiona:
Your support of the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund is advancing community-led recovery, and it means people received critical resources to help their community rebuild after the 2022 hurricane season.
This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. Thank you for your donation and your solidarity that enables GlobalGiving to be a trusted partner to local nonprofits in disaster-affected communities. You can find a full list of nonprofits that have received grants from the Hurricane Fiona Relief Fund at the end of this report.
You can stay connected with our work through Instagram, Facebook, and our Learn Library, where we regularly share stories about the incredible impact of the powerful GlobalGiving community.
With immense gratitude,
Victoria + the GlobalGiving Team

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
