Using donations from our Humanitarian Aid Program, Village member and pediatrician, Dr. Raid, was able to bring vital medicine and critical care to hospitalized children in Gaza.
Dr. Raid joined together with fellow members of Doctors for Human Rights to administer medicine, provide care and perform follow-up surgery for children injured by war.
Dr. Raid administered treatment to 38 children while his Doctors for Human Rights colleague and pediatric surgeon, Dr. Yasin, performed critical surgeries children needed to recover from devastating injuries sustained by war.
The delegation of doctors also visited a center for children with cancer in Gaza to learn about the work that the center does and the children in their care. The Humanitarian Aid Program is looking into ways of providing support to the center and to other hospitals in Gaza.
Too often, life saving equipment and medicine is unavailable to Gaza doctors. Due to lack of funds, red tape, and limited resources Gaza doctors and hospitals are unable to provide the necessary care their patients need. When you donate to Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam’s Humanitarian Aid program, you make it possible for people like Dr. Raid to bring hope and healing to people and families in their most desperate hours.
Our Humanitarian Aid Program is dedicated to helping families living under occupation. In addition to providing funds for medicine and facilitating medical support for Gaza hospitals, the program obtains border crossing permits and transportation for patients with severe conditions that require more than the limited options available. With your help we can continue to offer our hand in peace and hope to patients who are out of options and doctors who struggle to provide basic and necessary care to their patients.
