First Project Completed - Thank You

By Priscilla Lightsey | Founder/Executive Director

Greetings,

Hooray! This project has been fully funded! Thank you to our generous donors who made it possible to now deactivate this project. The HOPE team remains busy as we strive to become the first PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) International Premier Accredited Center in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). This project helped us a LOT! We bought much needed equipment (saddle, helmets, etc.) and nutrition – for both our two legged friends and four legged friends! As we serve folks with special needs, including orphans and migrant children, our visibility within the PRC, southeast Asia, and even in the U.S., is expanding. Because equine-assisted services have been proven to improve functional skills in many domains, we remain strong advocates of partnering with the horse to heal, grow, and offer hope to our participants, volunteers, supporters, and donors.

We are also passionate about raising awareness of the abilities and talents of individuals with special needs. All people deserve respect. Period. We have seen that when folks who have little to no contact with a person with a disability come visit our program, see a HOPE picture, talk to volunteers or family members/caregiver of a participant, good things often happen….. perspectives can be positively influenced. So, despite many challenges we remain committed to “enriching the lives of children with special needs”.

Again, thank you to our donors and supporters! Please stay connected with us through GlobalGiving, Facebook, WeChat, or http://hopebeijing.org/

Kind regards,

Priscilla and the HOPE team
