This quarter, the project continued to empower women with disabilities (WWDs) through skills development, vocational training, and capacity building. With the support of GlobalGiving donors, we trained 10 new women in tailoring, embroidery, and digital literacy, while 15 previous graduates have now started small home-based businesses. The journey of self-reliance for Women with Disabilities (WWDs) is ongoing, but each step forward is a powerful move toward inclusion, dignity, and economic independence.
Women with disabilities in rural and semi-urban Sindh face multiple layers of marginalization—due to gender, disability, poverty, and lack of access to education or employment. NDF Pakistan launched this project to equip Women with Disabilities (WWDs) with practical, income-generating skills, fostering both confidence and livelihood opportunities.
Challenges
Social stigma and family resistance still limit participation of some Women with Disabilities (WWDs).
Lack of assistive devices made mobility difficult for some trainees.
Load-shedding and limited internet impacted digital literacy sessions in Nawabshah.
Next Steps
Organize a “Women Entrepreneurs with Disabilities” local exhibition in Nawabshah.
Expand training to include beautician and henna design skills based on community feedback.
Collaborate with local businesses to market and sell products made by trainees.
Initiate refresher courses and advanced training for previous batches.
Acknowledgment to Donors
To our GlobalGiving community—thank you for believing in the potential of women with disabilities. Your support is changing lives, one stitch and one skill at a time.
