Celebrating a Decade of Impact

Dear Imani Family,

We are thrilled to share the success of the Imani Collective 10-year anniversary celebration held last month! This milestone marks a decade of incredible progress, growth, and positive change in our community, all thanks to supporters like you.

As we reflect on the past ten years, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support. What started as a sewing project for 16 women has grown to transform the lives of 100+ artisans and their families, and are SO excited to see the ripple effect throughout future generations.

These achievements would not have been possible without your contributions, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to our cause.

Looking ahead, we are excited about the opportunities to create even more impact in the next decade. Our passion and dedication to our mission remain stronger than ever, and we are eager to continue working together with you to transform lives and uplift our community.

Quarter 4 Impact Update

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is a bible passage that talks about a time for everything and how while each time and season we experience in our lives may seem random, it serves a divine purpose.

This year we have had moments where things looked blurry and the future unknown, but we held fast and believed that all this would get behind us. And guess what? The last month has served us moments of wins and celebrations that we would love to share because it is through your support that we get to do all this.

Employee Mental Wellbeing

Amidst a deteriorating global economy that has pushed prices of goods and services over the roof, conflicts and an unstable political environment, and the uncertainty that comes with it, we understand too well that our employees are affected by these issues and hence the need for combative action.

Mental health classes during our RISE sessions sensitize our artisans on the importance of acknowledging their emotions, speaking out, how to treat fellow employees in the workplace during such volatile times and how recognizing fellow employees who may need help.

We believe that sustainability begins with an individual, without which it can only lead to burnout, chronic depression, or even anxiety.

Mtepeni baby visit

The celebrations turn into song and dance as close to fifteen women from our Mtepeni location enter Fatuma Joseph’s home, close to a mile from our workshop. This time round, welcome baby Shemima Kadzo to the Imani family.

Baby Shemima’s brother Davies just graduated from our daycare after three years and six months with us and is now attending school.

“It makes me proud to be part of these kids’ upbringing till they are ready to start school. All kids who pass through our childcare perform exemplary in their school entry interviews, showing the good work we put into their development.” Says Regina, who heads our childcare program on location.

Fatuma now resumes work knowing her child is well taken care of and she can spend quality time with her kid between her breaks.
