The 6.8M earthquake in Hokkaido last September severely damaged the town of Hobetsu's only Learning Center for children. Damage was beyond repair and so the building was demolished by the government last November.
Our plan was to provide a Trailer House for the Learning Center that caters to 47 children in the town. However, due to inadequate funding, we have not been able to set up the Learning Center for the children in a trailer house yet. In the meantime, the children are meeting in a temporary rented facility that is really inadequate for their needs.
As soon as our budget is reached, we will start work on bringing this project to completion.
