We have finished the academic year 2020-2021 with 7 students who HAVE COMPLETED elementary school. Ready to join regular schools and continue their high school. On July 8, we celebrated the graduation of the 6th grade boys and girls, also celebrating the graduates from last year who, due to the pandemic, could not meet in person.
We also thankfully celebrate that despite the difficulty of having to attend to all the children in the school virtually, we have concluded the school year in a satisfactory way, with few children who have dropped out and that with the effort of each teacher and parents have developed their skills and assimilated the contents of the school year they went through in this cycle.
In this celebration we recognize that we do not walk alone, among teachers, parents, Board of Trustees, donors, administrative staff we weave a support network for our young children with visual disabilities and other associates. Thank you! For being part of this family!
We are proud of the history of each of the graduates, who in their last year of elementary school: overcame technological difficulties, strengthened their social skills and everything that distance learning involved, they made an effort every day to complete this stage.
Now that they are faced with a new environment, possibly face-to-face, of the regular high schools in which they have been enrolled, we continue to walk with them. We accompany the teachers of these schools with some strategies that we know will help the adaptation of our boys and girls, today entering adolescence.
In addition, we will always have the doors open for them and their families, in this home: Helen Keller School.
