The terrible Beirut explosions hit the Franciscan convent located in the Gemmayzeh area, just 1 km away from the port, causing extensive damage to the building. Fortunately, there were no victims among the friars and our friends, but the building was badly damaged and the Franciscans were forced to leave the convent for fear of collapse.
With the help of young volunteers and the support of Pro Terra Sancta, the Franciscans immediately secured the convent and began distributing aid to the displaced.
