Trees for the future 1,900,000 seedlings

By Maria Varela | Project Leader

Dear donors,

Trees for the future. More than 1600 families are working hard every day to care for 1,900,000 seedlings in our 10 nurseries.

We are very grateful for your continued support in this great Carbon Credits project. Following assessments by our Forest Accelerator support team we have decided that the project will focus on new plantings to meet all the requirements of the certification standards.

The families in the Districts of Huanoquite, Omacha, Accha and Ccapi in the province of Paruro Cusco are very excited.

All our efforts are focused on taking care of our seedlings by weeding, sprinkler irrigation, taking care of them from the frosts that have already occurred several times in the area, continuously monitoring their proper growth, temperature and humidity.

In recent months we have learned the model of this type of project, and we are working on the project profile of new plantations, the design is aimed at 1600 families and 1600 hectares per year for approximately 7 years. The province selected for its location is Paruro, in 4 of its districts, Huanoquite, Omacha, Accha and Ccapi.

After consultation with all the rural communities, they have said Yes! to participate in the project of the future. We continue to accompany them in order to strengthen their governance, which is why it is very important to ensure that their legal documents are valid as legal entities and that they have title to the land in accordance with Peruvian law.

Together with the Forestry Committees and the Community Boards, we are geo-referencing the areas where we are going to plant the trees, we hope that the rains will start in November and that we will not be affected by the El Niño phenomenon.

- We are grateful to be in a situation that allows us to continue serving the farming families.

- We hope to continue to count on your generosity and to continue sowing prosperity!

- Help us with your donation, tell your loved ones about our project, let's Sow Prosperity!

 BLESSINGS
