Rizwana is a teacher by profession. She is 35 years old and is a patient of Psoriatic Arthritis for the last 10 years due to which she could not walk as the pain was unbearable when tried. She came to the Rheumatology department of Fatima Memorial Hospital which works in collaboration with the Arthritis Care Foundation and diagnosed her illness and advised her to start her treatment.
Given her family background, the expensive treatment required was not affordable by her family. Arthritis Care Foundation (ACF) is bearing all her treatment expenses and Sponsoring Enbrel Injections which costs around Rs. 516,250 (3692.68$). Today, she is improving day by day and is able to walk towards a better life.
Similarly there are many patients who used to come to our Rheumatology department and are unable to bear the expenses. We need your generous support to provide continuous treatment to poor patients.
Arthritis Care Foundation (ACF) in collaboration with Fatima Memorial Hospital continues to serve many patients who cannot afford the treatment expenses.
If we had not provided this treatment, she would not have been able to walk; this has only been possible through your generous support.
The disease can strike at any time and without proper care can lead to severe disabilities affecting patients for a lifetime. However, today through early diagnosis and extensive treatment rheumatologists can significantly help prevent disability and death in patients suffering from rheumatic diseases.
