Joury doesn't talk yet, but we know what she has been through at age one. We also know that she has endured more than many of us will ever endure in a lifetime. In January 2020, 9-month-old Joury was diagnosed with leukemia. Since then, her family's life has changed , and both her older sisters started to take extra care of her to help their parents.
Joury has started getting her treatment that will cost $49,550 at the Children's Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL), the beneficiary NGO of CCCL UK Ltd, which treats kids at no cost to their parents. However, with the deteriorating economic situation and the COVID-19 outbreak, attaining this amount is a challenge especially that CCCL is totally dependent on donations. Today, they need our support more than ever to be able to keep treating Joury and 300 other patients currently under treatment.
CCCL UK Ltd has been aiding the CCCL in treating kids with cancer at no cost to their parents since 2002. At CCCL, more than 1,740 children have been treated to date with an average cure rate of 80%. The children at CCCL not only get their medication, but are also involved in many different activities which are age, skills, and medical status appropriate as they develop.
