In the aftermath of Puerto Rico's recent 6.4 earthquake and its current aftershocks, CMV Casa sin Fronteras will be offering our Psychological, Counseling and Dance Movement Therapy services to victims and survivors. The emotional state of the residents from the southern towns and other areas of the island is very fragile, they need help and strategies to deal with the psychological distress these events are causing them, in order to be able to get on with their lives.
Puerto Rico's recent earthquake and its current aftershocks, have deeply affected the emotional state of residents from southern towns of the island and other areas as well. This situation have caused many unexpected changes in their lives. As people are living with anxiety and psychological distress they need emotional support and strategies to be able to go on with their lives, cope with trauma, be resilient and rise from adversity.
CMV Casa sin Fronteras will be traveling to the southern towns of the island to bring Psychological, Counseling and Dance Movement Therapy services to victims and survivors, in coordination with local institutions. We will, also, do this work in other towns and areas of the island to help people deal with anxiety, depression and stress caused by natural events. Through workshops with different community groups we teach skills that help them be resilient and have the tools to overcome adversity
As a community rooted organization, we have been providing services for 5 years. Your donation will sustain and ensure that people in these communities can receive the emotional support they need to overcome adversity and develop the skills to go on with their lives, be strong and productive in a long-term basis. Our services impact children as well as teens, and adults. By empowering people to gain control of their emotional wellbeing we build a stronger community.
