A Mother's Journey: How Her Son Overcame Clubfoot

Dear Donors,

Warm greetings from Sukriti Social Foundation.

Because of you, children with birth deformities are not just surviving—they are thriving. You heal the hearts of parents, giving them the strength to fight for their child’s future. You ensure that every child gets the chance to walk, run, and embrace the joys of childhood.

Today, Prithvin runs freely, his laughter echoing as he leaps over a small step. His mother, Shobana, watches with teary-eyed joy. His father proudly says, "No one would ever guess he was born with clubfoot."

Like any parents, Shobana and her husband celebrated the birth of their child with happiness and dreams for his future. But their joy was cut short when doctors delivered the devastating news—their newborn had clubfoot in both legs.

Determined to give their son the best chance at life, they brought their one-day-old baby to the Children’s Hospital in Chennai. After multiple tests and X-rays, doctors recommended an intensive treatment plan. Prithvin had to endure eight rounds of casting, followed by surgery. Shobana recalls, "It was painful to watch my baby go through so much. But we consoled ourselves, knowing it was for his future."

After the surgeries, he needed corrective shoes—but his parents had no idea where to turn. That’s when Sukriti Social Foundation stepped in.

"They were our guiding light," Shobana shares. "When we felt exhausted, they gave us hope. They made sure Prithvin got the shoes he needed. They encouraged us to keep going, to believe in his recovery."

And the results? Nothing short of a miracle.

At his last check-up, the doctor gave them the most incredible news—Prithvin no longer needs the shoes! Today, he runs, plays, and lives just like any other child. "Seeing him so happy and full of life heals my heart," Shobana says, overwhelmed with gratitude.

Because of you, this story is not unique.

In the last quarter alone, we supported 219 children—helping them take their first steps toward freedom.

This is only possible because of you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for transforming lives.

With gratitude,
Sowmya Simhan
