Building successful cases of force, fraud and coercion against a human trafficker is just one step towards justice for a survivor. This year United Way of Southern Cameron County and its partner, Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid, provided legal services to 12 survivors and their family members resulting in:
These are small steps in a very large and complex problem.
The work is complex, but because we want our report to you to be simple and easy to read, we are focusing on a single aspect of our anti-human trafficking work in each report. We hope this helps shine a light on a problem that is all too common in the Rio Grande Valley.
