Help us keep fighting for the Amazon!

Dear supporter,

This dry season has been particularly a challenging one here in the Peruvian Amazon. Fires in the Amazon are increasing and although the situation is very concerning, we want to remain optimistic and are working harder than ever!

On the research front, we are continuing to expand our Butterfly and Moth project, and have recently obtained a grant from the Peruvian Science and Technology Foundation in association with the Catholic University in Peru. We are extremely excited about this new initiative as it will allow us to expand our project and continue building capacity with the local scientific community.

As for our reforestarion efforts, we are getting ready for planting season very soon. Our seedlings are happily growing in the shade house after months of taking diligent care to them. November and December is planting season here and so, we are preparing new areas to do reforestarion on. Also, this is the third consecutive year that we will be working with local families on training workshops that will help them germinate and reforest their forests with Brazil Nut seedlings. We are very excited about this effort to continue over the years as Brazil nut trees are a great example of a plant that is important for the forest and people equally.
