Every year, PEPY's Learning Center Program in Siem Reap, Cambodia enables over 60 rural youth to get the confidence, resources, and technical skills they need to find skilled employment and pursue higher education. We need the support of our community to help keep this project afloat in 2022, as some of the foundations we partner with have unexpectedly lost their funding. Your donation, big or small, will help the recovery of the Cambodian economy and help youth achieve their goals.
In Siem Reap, there is currently not enough youth with the skills and capacity to meet the needs of the labor market. Start-ups and emerging companies in Cambodia are not encouraged to invest in Siem Reap, citing a lack of innovation and qualified workers. PEPY has worked for nearly a decade to help change that mindset and show that our youth are competitive and prepared for the dynamic economy.
PEPY's Learning Center provides essential courses to rural youth to help them take the first steps to be future leaders, entrepreneurs, skilled employees, or follow the path of their choice. We offer the Youth Empowerment Project (soft skills coaching like teamwork, confidence, public speaking, problem-solving, etc.), English Learning Project, ICT (Information Communications Technology) Course, and business classes. By the end of the program, youth leave our center confident and ready.
In the 9 years that the Learning Center has been running, we have slowly changed the minds of employers in Siem Reap. PEPY youth are well reputed and sought after in the city and now business owners are beginning to see that youth skilled in communications, IT, and team development are possible to find in Siem Reap. We are working on connecting more IT and freelance companies in Siem Reap, helping build and reshape the economy as a whole. We see a future where all careers are possible!
