Hey there!
Thank you so much for supporting this project! We were able to get some of our equipment to Haiti as well as begin to figure out how we can change some of the supplies we use in order to source them in country.
For now, we are going to pause shipping equipment due to Haiti's current situation. After the president stepped down in the spring, an interim president was put in place to enforce elections in 18 months as well as negotiate the UN peacekeeping forces arrival. That is set to begin in July and we are not sure how that will affect us at this moment. So we are shifting our current Haiti goals to more sourcing in Haiti, building some of our project goals around what we have in country, and performing our bi-annual maintenance on water systems. We are still moving forward with our Water House projects with what we have in country and the staff in Haiti are currently in the midst of a build.
We want to be transparent about the struggles that Haiti is presenting us while also being realistic about what we may be able to accomplish in the next 6 months. So thank you for helping get some of our equipment to Haiti and stay tuned for when we have updates!
