Help Transport 7000 women for Cancer treatment

Patient Relief Mission (PRM) exists to improve cancer care and management for female cancer patients and their care-givers by providing hostel accommodation transport to and from Uganda cancer institute (UCI) for treatment and three meals a day to those who come from rural areas in order to receive their treatment who otherwise would have nowhere to stay in the city.

PRM was founded with the aim of ending needless suffering for cancer patients in Kampala, Uganda.

Following suspension of Patient Relief Mission (PRM) service in November 2021 due to the impact of Covid 19 pandemic and financial constraints, we immediately embarked on working on the acre of land that was donated for construction of our patient’s new and permanent home in Mukono District.

After submitting all relevant documents required by Local Authority, we are pleased to inform you that we were recently granted permission to develop the plot.

We hope to raise funds and commence the process of building a home to rehouse our patients as soon as possible. (Together we can achieve it)

Success story

Patient Relief Mission (PRM) team has reached out to over 600 patients at a local hospital (Kawolo) since the beginning of this year.

Since January we have identified 23 patients with cancer symptoms and have made them referrals to the Uganda Cancer Institute (UCI) for further investigations.

We have been able to give nutritious meals on five wards since January 2022 where patients and their caregivers always look forward to it.

Patient Relief Mission (PRM) has started on developing our site, where we are going to put a hostel for patients.

As results of Covid 19 restrictions and lockdown we could not raise enough funds to maintain patient hostel rent. However, we were fortunate to receive a donation of an acre of land where by we are preparing to raise funds to construct our own hostel to ease on cost of rent in the city of Kampala.

With funds from GlobalGiving and local supporters, PRM has embarked on visiting a local hospital (Kawolo) once a week on Saturdays to raise Cancer Awareness, give Nutritious meals supplements and Psycho-Social support as we wait for the construction of the new hostel.
