Project Report | Feb 20, 2020
Martin gaining such passion

By Sarah Bergs | Project Leader

Working with dogs is Martins passion now
Working with dogs is Martins passion now

A short sweet project update - and one of our highlights at the moment is to see the ownership of the staff and Nourish team that are involved with the Animal Outreach. Martin - is our focus on this update report. ( We also work with Benneth, and Tinyiko who you will hear about later).

Each one of them has undergone such a personal evolution in terms of their engagement with the community, their empathy for animals, their confidence in handling dogs and animals with kindness, and their ability to become a shining example in their own community.

Martin is one such person - he has been working at Nourish for over 3 years now and comes from the local village Sigague, where Nourish runs the animal outreach ( alongside African Dream Horse Safaris and HALO ) he started essentially being there to translate, being nervous around dogs - and being worried that his community will ostracize him if he tries to change the way they handle their animals... now he gets calls about sick dogs, people phone him to ask about sterilizations, and he joins the animal outreaches and talks to people about how to keep their animals, to ensure they have enough water in hot weather etc... and where he finds conditions inappropriate or cruel - he does something about it.

Martin is a leader to our children and to his community!
