Dear friends,
During this COVID-19 event our center-the Center for Career Discovery, has stayed busy. Now that we are working to create a Public Health Promotions and Disease Prevention Path, we opened our doors to Health Care Workers in the Monrovia, Liberia area to receive Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) training at our Center. The health care centers around Monrovia needed a large space with wifi and computers to train workers, so we collaborated with the Healthcare Federation of Liberia to host the trainings at Liberia Career Pathways.
However, recently, the Liberian government relaxed the COVID-19 restrictions to open schools only for senior high school students, to allow them to finish thier testings and graduate.
So, our Center is now even busier with students flowing in everyday to use computers and wifi for studies and research. Our peer advisors are here to give any support that is needed.
Generally, we do an annual Career Day workshop in July for students all over Monrovia. But, due to the interruption in schooling this year, we can't do it. However, we are now planning to do the Career Day workshop in Monrovia and add two more cities; Gbanga and Ganta, in Central Liberia, in early September this year.
As always, we thank you so much for your ongoing support to help students in Liberia.
Thanks,
Kenety S. Gee, Executive Director
