Wide Horizons Retreat in Eswatini (Swaziland) was tragically burnt to the ground by a wildfire on 11th July 2024. This disaster not only destroyed our lodge but also put the livelihoods of our dedicated staff & the crucial conservation efforts of the Makhungutsha mountain ecosystem at risk. A wildfire has tragically destroyed Wide Horizons Retreat, an ecotourism lodge in Eswatini. This disaster jeopardizes the livelihoods of our staff members & our conservation efforts in the Makhungutsha mountain ecosystem, which relied on ecotourism revenue from the lodge. We urgently need funds to support our staff & continue our vital conservation work whilst we restore the lodge.
