Dear GlobalGiving donors,
Time flies... It’s not only books and magazines that are available at the YUM’s Library but we also offer various educational activities. One of them is Health and Nutrition Education.
The lack of information and knowledge about health impact the children’s life in Kalimantan. Many of them suffer from wormy disease, skin disease, malnutrition, bad teeth etc. The aim of this activity is to improve children’s health and nutrition by providing theory and practice of clean and healthy behavior. Therefore this program is very important for the children in the area YUM is serving. The children participating in this program come from surrounding villages.
YUM’s staff delivers this program in a fun and creative way, such as watching a short movie, singing together, games etc. At every session of this program, YUM distributes glasses of milk. The theme given is very close to their daily life, such as hands washing, teeth brushing, proper height and weight, nutritious food, cleanliness and others. Now the children at the YUM Kalimantan Library understand that they need to wash their hands before eating and frequently brush their teeth.
Dear GlobalGiving donors, we are truly thankful for your trust and the continuous generous support given to the children in Kalimantan through YUM. None of the above is possible without your help. Thank you!
