At the beginning of this year, it's when our participants in All-Star band started their training through monthly camp that take place from Kampala, the headquarter of our partner Brass for Africa.
Two participants successfully participated the program in 9 scheduled camps. By attending the camp, we have realized improvement in leadership, communication , time management, and so many other skills that prepare them to become future leaders. On top of that they have improved their music skills and now they are assisting our music teacher in support the participants in Bronze and Silver bands.
This creates not only the potential future music teachers but it also create the best future leaders who would change the community.
In May one participant attended thw Student Volunteer program which he completed in June. This program has boosted his lesson preparations skills, curriculum development and so many other skills related to how to teach music.
We are happy for the graduation of these 3 participants and we look forward to seeing them impacting others throughout this year.
This year also gave opportunity to our 12 senior participants to sit for All-Star auditions where few among them would be selected to be part of the All-Star band next year. We look forward to getting the results.
We thank everyone for your support toward shaping and improving the lives of less privileged children and youth.
