Walk alongside us as we fight to break the generational cycle of poverty in Kenya through holistic artisan empowerment. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by year-end to cover all expenses for our 2021 holistic programs, which are at the heart of our mission. Imani Collective is socioeconomic empowerment program centered around creating employment opportunities, as well as the necessary resources and community support to raise up artisans holistically.
Why It Matters In 2020, like many around the world, our Imani Collective family was impacted financially and otherwise by the COVID-19 pandemic. To sustain our mission long-term, we were forced to make the difficult decision to temporarily reduce our holistic programs. This decision weighed on us heavily, as we believe true empowerment means caring for all aspects of our artisans' lives.
By raising funds to cover all holistic program expenses for 2021, we will guarantee that next year, regardless of external circumstances, our artisans will not be without the holistic support needed to raise up themselves, their families and their communities. This holistic approach is at the heart of our mission, which help free up our artisans from external pressures that might otherwise prevent them from growing beyond immediate survival and into long-term planning and dreaming.
In addition to consistent, fair wages, we provide a variety of holistic programs for our artisans, like daily lunches free childcare, weekly literacy classes, quarterly team building outings, celebrations of birthdays and special events, monthly bonuses and awards, character building lessons, sponsorship for our artisans kids to attend primary school, monthly home visits, dream management and more.
