Dear Supporters,
Since the launch of the Gaza Monologues Support Campaign, we have raised 6,090 US dollars of our 10,000 US dollar goal, with 3,910 US dollars remaining to fully fund this vital mission. Through the generosity of 110 donors, we have been able to provide much-needed assistance to the Gaza Monologues authors in Gaza, who have been tirelessly working to support children through psycho-social drama workshops despite the ongoing challenges.
We kindly invite you to register as our donor for more involvement opportunities in fundraising with ASHTAR.

In recent developments, a ceasefire began on Sunday, January 19, providing a temporary reprieve from the violence and creating new opportunities for access, rehabilitation, and evacuation. This critical moment of peace has allowed us to assist in the safe evacuation of those authors and their families who are at the greatest risk, while also ensuring continued support for those who remain in Gaza. Although the situation remains volatile, the ceasefire offers a window of hope and possibility.
Thanks to the support of our donors, we are able to provide emergency financial assistance to two Gaza Monologues authors for whom we have been fundraising using this campaign. This support enables them to partially meet their basic living needs while continuing their vital work with children, offering psycho-social release through drama. Additionally, we supported the evacuation of the husband of one of our authors, contributing to hospitalisation costs as he recovered in Egypt after his injuries in Gaza.
The ceasefire offers a crucial opportunity, but the need for continued support remains urgent. The funds raised will contribute to enabling further evacuations, which are both costly and complex, and provide more sustained financial aid to the authors who remain in Gaza, ensuring they can continue their life-changing work with children in their communities.
Each donation, no matter the size, directly impacts the lives of the Gaza Monologues authors, who have shown remarkable courage and resilience in the face of immense challenges. The cost of evacuating an adult from Gaza is approximately 5,000 US dollars, while evacuating a child costs 2,500 US dollars. These costs can create significant barriers to safety, which is why your support is critical. The costs of living are unprecedented and hugely inflated.
We are profoundly grateful for your belief in this campaign and for your generosity, which empowers us to protect the Gaza Monologues authors and support them as they navigate these unprecedented times. Your contributions help create opportunities for healing and hope, bringing us closer to our goal of ensuring their safety and the continuity of their essential work.
Thank you for standing with us.
Together, we can continue to offer hope and support during these turbulent times.
Immensely grateful,
ASHTAR Theatre
