Dear HOPE Supporter,
HOPE Foundation is very excited to begin our new maternal health projects set for 2014 as well as continue our impactful established projects. As always, our Mothers' Clubs will be instrumental in implementing all maternal health projects. This year HOPE Foundation will be adding on to our obstetric fistula program. A grant from Henry E. Niles will allow us to begin an entrepreneurship program to train a group of HOPE's fistula patients who endured great social and financial struggle while they were living with fistula, in seamstress skills as well as help support them with business skills and supplies to start their own businesses. Our Mothers' Clubs will help with the recruitment of fistula survivors, advertising of the women's businesses and raising awareness. A second grant from Dining for Women will allow us to build and train a specialized fistula team to do more repair surgeries per year as well as reach more women. Our Outreach Coordinator will be working with the Mothers' Clubs to provide presentations and deliver education about fistula during their community sessions. The Outreach Coordinator will furthermore work with the Mothers' Clubs to recruit patients, counsel current patients in their communities and reintegrate patients to their respective villages after successful fistula surgery. Our Mothers' Clubs have increasingly critical roles in all of our maternal health projects and we are grateful to you for your continued support. We look forward to updating you on how these projects progress throughout the year!
Best Regards,
Ashley Pugh
