Dear friend,
For most women, pregnancy and childbirth are extraordinary life events that bring about joy
and excitement. However, in many parts of the world, especially in rural areas, like Cox’s Bazar,
Bangladesh, pregnancy and childbirth are events that can bring about disease, injury and even
death. Without adequate and accurate information, complications in pregnancy and child
delivery are more likely to occur.
To educate members of the community, raise awareness, dispel myths, and promote health, HOPE Mothers’ Clubs (MCs) were formed and have developed a strong presence in the area.
You can see from the photo one of our participats in the meeting (along with some well-behaved children), about to start learning the importance of antenatal and postnatal care! These are just two of the many topics that our mothers are able to speak freely about in the safe and welcoming environment of the MC gatherings.
As a result, HOPE has been able to provide antenatal care checkups to woemn that did not know the importace of medical care during pregnancy.
Without your understanding and generosity, these Club meetings would not be able to take place!
Until the next meeting, we THANK YOU for your support!
