Every March 8th, we commemorate International Women’s Day, recognizing progress made in the fight for gender equality. At FUNDAP, we also take this day to highlight the unwavering effort of many girls who, despite challenges, continue their education. To be a woman is to be resilient, strong, and, above all, confident — confident in one’s own skills and abilities.
Our 4,100 scholarship recipients, girls and young women, have the determination not to give up and to see adversity as a source of opportunity. With love and dedication, they seek new paths and alternatives that will allow them to improve their academic and personal lives.
It is essential that they recognize and develop the talents and strengths they possess; that they learn to trust in the resources they have — but above all, to believe in themselves. Only then will they be able to reach their goals and fight for the ideals shaped by their own vision.
Girls who continue their studies are not only a symbol of perseverance, but a reminder that gender equality in access to education is key to building a more just and equitable future.
Thanks to deep-rooted change in communities and a renewed value placed on girls’ education — along with the impact of these scholarships — many successes are now visible. That’s why our efforts remain focused on ensuring girls and young women stay in school. With your support and donations, we will continue to make it happen.
