In the Scholarship Project we reinforce habits, strengthen skills and, above all, practice values. One of the most important is friendship, one of the most beautiful human relationships that can be formed at any stage of life.
This is the story of Estrella, a 13-year-old girl who lives in Cantón Ayutia, in the municipality of Retalhuleu. She is a responsible, cheerful, cooperative, attentive and, above all, very dedicated young woman. She is currently in first year of high school in her community and, despite not being able to attend classes due to the pandemic, she makes an effort to complete her homework with care and punctuality.
When Estrella entered the Scholarship Project, she was very shy and had almost no friends in the community because she lived elsewhere. As time went by, she got to know her classmates and created a beautiful friendship with each one of them. Her friends come to her house to do some tasks that they do not understand, and she helps them by solving doubts.
She especially helps her friend Breverly, because she suffered an accident and fractured her right hand. Since they are such good friends, Estrella helps her with homework. Breverly tells us with great joy that Estrella is the one who has encouraged her to stay in school, for which she is very grateful to have her support and above all her friendship and sincere affection.
Estrella is the oldest sister of three and has all the support of her mother to continue with her studies. Her family is very united, it is a home full of love, tenderness and solidarity.
Star’s dream is to graduate, and she is sure she will achieve it. She wants to be a successful professional.
