Dear Supporters,
Flooding continue to be a persistent challenge in Kisumu county, causing widespread destruction to property, houses and farm produce. The reccurent floods displace hundreds of people/families exposing them to water borne diseases, malaria and pneumonia due to cold conditions.
in December 2024 and part of January 2025, the county experienced short but devastating rainfall, which once again displaced many residents, forcing them into evacuation centers. This period was marked by immense suffefing, with families struggling to cope with the harsh conditions.
The James Were Foundation has consitently played a vital role in supporting afftected families. Our response includes providing food, mosquito nets and blankets to mitigate the immediate impact of displacement andvto safeguard their health and well-being.
As part of our long term committment, we are actively seeking alternative and permanent solution to prevdnt future displacement and reduce the suffering caused by floods. Our efforts remain focused on delivefing relief and ensuring the resilience of vulnerable communities in Kisumu county.
our key actuons taken include distribution of food supplies to displaved families, provision of mosquito nets and blankets to families to help them cope with the cold conditions. The JW Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support flood victims and foster hope amidst adversity.
