Dear YOUPSA Friend,
Thank you for your kind contribution to our computer campaign. We are still fundraising with the hope to achieve our goal before the end of the year.
The rural children here have no access at all to computers, and don't know anything about how to use a computer or laptop, never mind even switching it on.
We are so eager to bring this experience to them. It not only opens worlds, but also prepares them for more opportunities in their future.
Besides exposing the children to basic computer literacy we are eager to begin introducing them to the exciting online Maths program that YOUPSA recently gained access to. The children are hardly learning even basic addition and subtraction in school. Experience with the fun and self-directed online Maths program would give them a huge academic boost. In the meantime we made some hard copies of a couple of the learning tools that are found on the online Maths program. Already their interest in learning Maths is sparked, so much so that last week the students did not want to leave for break. Instead they decided to stay to continue practicing this exciting technique for getting acquainted with basic maths operations!
