Children in the Gamtoos Valley know that YOUPSA is bringing unforgettable creative learning with fun to them. Our weekly presence in their communities means so much to them, in a rural area were there is very little else to stimulate and develop a young mind. YOUPSA's present computers are old, slow or broken. We urgently need computers for teaching computer literacy, online research, library management skills and for educational videos, as well as for the daily operation of the organization.
Farms are spread out and isolated, there is no central area with shops or public transport to connect one with 'civilization'. There are no youth centers, recreational facilities, activities, events, playgrounds, or other opportunities for development. Schools and homes have no computers, the children have no chance to explore the world that a computer can open up for them.
YOUPSA needs new laptop computers for their education programs to give young people the opportunity to access the wider world and inspire them with new ideas. Children are absolutely thirsty for the exciting educational opportunities and care that YOUPSA brings into their lives. These quality laptops will also be used for the day to day running of the organization.
YOUPSA is the only education charity in the region. Its programs impact over 900 rural children and youth, their families and communities that live in severely compromised situations. Giving the children and youth the experience of using a laptop will aid in creating an environment that promotes innovation and creativity. With your kind help, these laptops will also guarantee the daily administration and sustainable implementation of YOUPSA's programs for the children.
