My name is Alessandra, I am from Venezuela. My husband is Andres, he is from Ecuador. We both went to the Netherlands to study a Master, which is where we met. We are currently still living and working in the Netherlands.
In 2018 I had to go to South Africa for work. I spent there a total of two weeks, but it was enough time to fall in love with the people, as well as the incredible wild live. It was my first time in Africa, so I had never seen anything like it. However, it was also enough time to realize how much social inequality is still present in the country.
This is why when I came back from my trip, together with my husband we decided that the best way of helping would be trough offering help in the education of a child. We believe that a good education is the best tool a child can have to prepare them for a better future. While searching for an organization, we came across African Angels.
When we approached them for information they were very open and quickly explained the process, which was very nice because we had never done anything like this before. They told us that we would be sponsoring the education of Babusise, they gave us an introduction of her and her family.
Since then, we receive periodic updates on her education and progress, which is a nice way of connecting with her. Also, whenever we receive a video from Caroline of Babusise, either opening a present or a letter from us, or just talking about her favorite things and her family, it makes my whole day! She is this lovely, beautiful girl full of energy!
We are really happy to have encountered this organization, because we were given the opportunity to contribute in the education of a beautiful girl, while in return we get a sense of fulfillment and joy that comes from helping others.
