When J first heard about Crecemos DIJO, she hesitated. Growing up in Monte Albán, a neighborhood marked by poverty and violence, she had learned to be cautious of offers that often came with hidden conditions.

But Crecemos was different. The team genuinely cared about her children’s well-being, with no strings attached. In this space filled with love and support, her children found a place to thrive through tutoring, sports, and music programs.

A life-changing moment came when her third child was diagnosed with a potentially fatal blood disease. J turned to the people she trusted most: Crecemos. The organization connected her with the medical care her son needed to save his life. Today, JM, once not expected to live past eight years old, is a thriving 16-year-old.

Through Crecemos, J discovered that education is not just about learning—it’s about hope. She found a safe place where she could heal and rediscover her capacity to love and be loved, as a mother, a friend, and a neighbor.

This transformation is also shaping her children’s future. They’ve learned they are made for more than the violence and poverty around them. Through music, sports, and educational programs, they are unlocking their potential to become compassionate, confident citizens of the world.
