This end of the year 2022 report highlights the progress on achievements by 90 membered women group of Gardi, Nepal as follows:
- Sold fishes of 105 kilograms in Dashain festival (October 2022) and earned 300 USD
- Sold 35 Ducks and earned 420 USD in November 2022
- Sold 25 local chicken in October and earned 240 USD.
- Second lot of selling of fish, Duck, Chicken will be on January 2023
- Madi municipality has been supporting this year to this women group by providing grants for making more chicken/ duck sheds
- This entrepreneural approach is attracting more women to become members of the women groups, many requests are there in place, the executive committee will decide soon to increase the members
- An advisory body has been formed by involving few male e.g. Krishna Paudel (former ward chairperson) and Jeevan Chaudhary (social leader)
- Few women groups from other villages of Madi have made excursion visits to this women group and their works, which has encouraged to other women groups to replicate the similar works in other parts of Madi municipality
The earned money is deposited in the bank account maintained at Nepal Agricultural Development Bank, Basantapur, Madi, Nepal.
