Help 90 Deprived & Marginalized Families in Nepal

Gardi women group bought 1,000 ducklings and 3,000 fisheries in May 2023. In May-July, 2023 they sold around 700 ducks and earned gross amount of 490,000 NPR (3,700 USD). With this amount, they are planning to add more ducklings in September (after monsoon end). Fish will be ready to sell on October 2023. They have applied for the grant for the animal husbandry (Buffalo) to the Madi municipality, but not approved yet. The women group is progressing organically without external support and the profits are saved in the women group's bank account for further investment. Other women groups from neighboring villages (e.g. Amarauli and Biranchi women groups) come to visit Gardi women group to learn and observe the activities of Gardi women group.

The fundraising was not made during the last 6 months, However, for the last 6 months, following progresses were made by the Gardi women group, who has continued to this women led fish farming, duck farming and poultry farming:

- Madi municipality provided 1,000 numbers of Ducklings in March 2023

- 1 Duck shed was constructed with grant money (equivalent to 3,000 USD) from Madi municipality, 

- Solar pumped water is being used for neighboring farmers for vegetables farming, few farmers sell their vegetable in the local market

- 9 new members added in the Gardi women group, these women belong to Gardi village

- Fish sold in February with a value of 750 USD to local fish sellers, they transported these Fish to Bharatpur and Narayangarh (district headquarter)
