Since 2022, we started initiative to help women be able to work in the workshop, make money and save for themselves to buy their own machines. We are proud of today progress as of now more than 90 women have already bought the sewing and knitting machines and are now able to make regural income.
The women have now started their own workshops in our community which has transformed their lives from zero income earners to at least now earning 2$ per day.
This has impacted their families in possitive way and in terms of getting basic needs like clothes, food, shelter, water, utilities etc. They are also doing great to pay school fees of their children which is reducing the number of children who could end up on the street.
Currently, other 30 mothers have started to work in the worshop until December to save and buy their own machines. The project will continue and be expanded in other communities.
