Project Report | Jun 11, 2024
207 accessed education and 51 women empowered within this year.

By Francois Duniya | Executive Director

  • 207 scholars - 123 in early childhood education program & 84 currently receiving our academic support in primary and secondary school.

Since February 2023, Root Foundation started a great program that gives a chance to every child whose parents can not afford pre-primary education. The Early Childhood Education Program is currently hosting 123 less privileged children in baby, middle and top class so that they can get academic skills, social skills and breakfast.

We are proud that both children and parents are enjoying this opportunity as they see the impact that it brings. We started without chairs, tables, no uniform, shoes, sport wear and other class materials but we are proud that all the students study in a comfortable class rooms, look smart in the uniforms and shoes, and most importantly they are improving their skills in respective classroom. It is now easy for the parents to go for their daily job as they know that their children stay at the safe space. Also, some of them started to join our parent empowerment program which change their lives .This academic year we were able to support 84 scholars from 55 in last year. We are glad that they are progressing well in their studies.

  • 51 sewing and knitting graduates and 23 women received new machines while the remaining are working from our workshop toward buying their own machines. Among these women, we have 17 teen mothers , 15 who were trading on street, and the rest are the mothers of our children who were job less but today they are working to earn regular income.

This has been a journey to  not only  empower them with the skills but also help them gain back hope, confidence,  and positive mindset  to overcome life difficulties and other experienced setbacks.

The marathon continues to make sure that less privileged women get on demand skills  and the opportunity to start using their skills and maintain regular income for their families' development. We extend our gratitude to all of you who constantly support us toward impacting more lives and make true life transformation to less privileged families.

Ways forward

Early Childhood Education Program: We will have the end of year graduation in July and 28 children in top class will join primary. We are looking for the private primary school which could do a discount for their school fees and keep the same quality of education. Others will get promoted to the next level and we are looking forward to seeing them succeeding more in the next academic year that will start in Septer. All 123 children also were introduced talent and Ethics Development program to help them develop their talents and social skills as well us behaviors.

Scholarship program: We are glad that these scholars improve their academic performance and we reinforced their coaching program so as to help those who are struggling and also those who are getting ready for the national exam nation.

Parents empowerment program: 23 women with machines already started to work for themselves. Having the remaining 38 working in our equiped and supportive  workshops to be able to buy their own machines in coming few months. We have opened the registration to the new women who would love to study sewing, handcraft and knitting so that they can also strat the training soon.

We are in the process to strengthen our programs by partnering with government and other organization so as to get curriculums, accreditation, teachers training and certificate from them for the women (Sewing and knitting).

We extentd our appreciation to you all for the wonderful support. Your donation helped us to achieve the above and I believe that we will be able to achieve more and sustain this wonderful work.

Thank you!
