In February 2023, Root Foundation opened early childhood education program to support little children who were at high risk of ending up on street attend pre-primary education.
We opened registration and more than 150 children registered to start. However, Root Foundation were able to enroll 90 little ones based on those at high need like those living with a single parent and also those ones at high risk of ending up on street.
50% of these enrolled children live only with their mothers who on daily basis go to trade on street. This was exposing these children to go on street yet they were supposed to be pre-primary school.
87 after 6 months of studies finished their 1 year curriculum and will join the second term in coming month of September.
This projected unable us to provide breakfast, learning materials, and also facilitate their facilitators who support these learners to grow their skills at safe place.
Today, big number of children from our community is also asking to join the program. We are hoping to get fund to sustain 87 we have and also add other children who are in need of these program.
