Dear Donor,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your generous support of the rural schools project. Thanks to the contributions from our donors, we successfully provided essential school supplies to 2,676 rural students across 18 remote schools in Welikanda and Dimbulagala in January 2025, marking our seventh consecutive year of this initiative.
Additionally, we supplied each of these schools with library books valued at LKR 50,000 (approximately USD 170) and sports equipment worth LKR 30,000 (around USD 102).
Our dedicated volunteers took three days off to travel to these locations, covering their own accommodation costs to further contribute to this meaningful cause.
In the coming months, we have identified two key projects: first, to enhance the mathematics skills of lower-grade rural students, addressing a common challenge they face during the Ordinary Level examinations; and second, to foster a reading habit that will benefit their lifelong learning.
Our next distribution of essential school items is planned for December 2025, aimed at supporting students as they transition to a new grade in January 2026, particularly in Nuwara-eliya and Ampara, areas with significant low-income populations.
With the continued support of our donors, we aspire to reach as many rural students as possible.
Thank you once again. May you and your family be blessed abundantly!
Warm Regards
Suranjani Wickremeratne
