We are so proud to be able to report that for the first time, the Cardiac Center performed 5 successful surgeries staffed only by our resident team. To date, we have partnered with surgical teams and Anaesthesist from around the world to perform all of our pediatric and adult missions. These inspiring individuals and teams, who have donated their time and expertise, have not only saved scores of lives at the Cardiac Center, but have trained the assisting local team they work with.
As a result, our local team can now perform certain cardiac surgeries entirely on their own. This is huge, because it increases the number of patients we will be able to save through your generous donations.
Congratulations to everyone involved! We look forward to healing more hearts than ever in the coming year.
