By Jamie Stuart | Co-Founder
The parents of HCU children have kindly banded together to build a new classroom, for which they have fundraised themselves and worked to buy materials and physically build the foundation and walls. For our co-founder Jamie's birthday, we fundraised an additional $500 to add the roof. This classroom not only symbolizes the collaboration between local stakeholders and foreign partners, it provides the basis for our future self sustaining school model. Parents are so eager to contribute, by building classrooms and paying school fees, to a school model for HCU children. This brings us closer to operating completely self-sustainably, relying on local income rather than foreign funding. We are so excited to see where this brings us. In the meantime, we rely on foreign funding and donations for our operating costs - any donations would be much appreciated.
