Thanks to your support , GlobalGiving and other FONTEN partner organizations, we finally have a renovated building, earthquake proof and accessible to all our patients and community. In the month of January 2023, FONTEN began to receive the first patients at the renewed facility, day by day are more people who needs our services reaching up to 70 patients per day.
During the months of December to March, 3,514 consultationis were carried out, with an average of 300 patients per month. 262 new patients were evaluated during this period. A total of 15 prosthesis and 109 orthoses were fabricated. A total of 300 people benefited with technical aids such as canes, crutches, and walkers. In addition to this a total of 100 patients received therapy at their communities.
In the months of February and March we received 8 students for internships, future occupational therapists, and physiotherapists from FSRL, in Leogane. Added to this, different activities were carried out together with the students, such as distribution of technical aids, training for parents of children with disabilities, and celebration of World Down Syndrome Day, in which more than 200 people were sensitized to inclusion. of people with Down syndrome.
