Selfinjury & mental deseases explosed in Greek schools after 8 years of buyling of the econ. crisis

Dear friends,

Thank you for supporting our efforts dedicated to give help to young people impacted by self-harm, providing a safe space to talk, ask any questions and be honest about whats is going on with their lives. Please stay by us. We motivate professionals to come and help us covering as many people as possible. Kids and Youth are deep in selfinjury.

Our Services: Speaking & Conferences for kids, teens and families, Training professionals, Delivering meals and essentials, Giving therapies in public schools.

It is important to inform you, that there are no more psychologists in any public school in Greece due to the reduction of the number of employees in the public domain. Thus professors and teachers have to face any psychiatric, nevrotic, depressive case of students by themeselves.

We try to cover as fast as possible all public schools .to get the precise needs of each school. Unfortunately the average of children suffering from mental deseases, or selfharm nevrosis are more than 68% in Athens. We found schools with a percentage of 85% of selharmers, borderline or dipolar behavor,

Training professionals is urgent. Greece never experienced before the economic cirisis such a death tentance or depression in yourh. Training professionals such as psychologists, therapists and teachers, is the fastest way to cure the explotion of selfinjurey and mental deseases in our country. It is contradictory with the mentality and the mediteraenean life the impact that selfinury reflects in the society in total. The economic crisis, put for the first time in our country, under question the most basic human needs.

Insecurity is the base of the day life. Children live practicaly alone when parents are runing to cover with a pure income, new taxes, the moment where unemplyonment keeps on raising fast. There is no visible futur for the majority of the families. 1/4 of the population is affected by suicidal behavor or panic crisis, mental deseases... Selfinjury is mostly affecting the ages between 12-25 years old kids and youth.

HUG POINT is a point we try to creat in schools to keep informing kids where and how to find solutions. We try to keep contact with all kid's needs even the days we are not at their school. IT'S EXTREMELY difficult to approach all parents when they dont' have time to share with their kids. Thus, we take advantage of our charity shop, where 12 hours per day 2-3 psychologists are ready to give help to any kid who asks for.

It is an emergency need for youth to rebuild a safe environment to keep suicidal thoughts away of kids lives.

We believe that we should face Youth's health united in all countries. We believe that youth suffers in all countries that experienced the economic crisis.

Dear Friends,

The three ways in which the economic crisis has impacted on the life of children and young people has been highly destructive. I do not want to tire you by describing all the aspects of exclusion which confront children, therefore i will only focus on the principal three factors leading to despair, and which contribute to an increase in attempted juvenile suicide rates as well as a rapid increase in the rates of self-wounding , a result of increased poverty and multiple traumas created by the economic crisis.

The three key danger factors confronting children, juveniles, and youths in Greece are :

1.Survival : Lack of food. Children face hunger which leads to despair, self-wounding and violence.

2. Health : Psychiatric diseases , that were not common in sunny Greece, are now widespread among children and adolescents. Apart from a lack of food and shelter, the young are now not able to pursue or finish their studies. In Athens 78% of children have wounded themselves once, and the rate in the rest of the country lies ay 50%.

3. Education : In the last 5 years only 7 student residences have been operating compared to 48 pro-crisis.

This is the primary cause of exclusion from attending university.

On top of these dreadful situations confronting children and youths, there is the prospect of unemployment as the only perspective in life.

Despair, anger and fear accompany children and youths as a result of the economic crisis.

It should be noted that all countries affected by the economic crisis have been impacted to a lesser degree.

The youth is condemned to a 'death' lifestyle.

We have to unite together in every nation as one people to support the youth of the nation. There is no future without the young.

There is no society without children.

With your assistance we managed to man the centre of psychiatric diseases for children, providing the basic furniture and arranging the space in such a way as to give children the necessary therapy and support which is needed.

in Greece there is no other centre of support for psychiatric disease for children and youths. These diseases until recently were not part of our life (marginal, bipolar, self-wounding, suicidal behaviour are not treated in any other centre in Greece).

Children who have attempted suicide or self-wounding end up being put in prison or in a psychiatric hospital.

We are receiving on a daily basis calls for aid from student halls, and universities as well as institutes of tertiary education. They are not informed about nor do they have any ways of helping youths with self-harming behaviour, whilst the incidence of such behaviour has risen to dangerously high levels. Its important to note that due to the economic crisis there are no psychologists available at tertiary education institutes for treating this disorder . Additionally due to the crisis many committes of public employees responsible have been discontinued, such as the Committee for the control and psychological and physical health of psychologists, which has been disbanded for 5 years. Such committees are essential for giving psychologists and therapists the license to practice their therapy.

At the same time Greek society is not aware of the disorder known as self- harming behaviour, its causes and effect, consequently many youths with such behaviour are ostricized marginalized. Youths are not receiving anand as a result re-initiate their behaviour, becoming self-harmers.

Understanding our responsibility we kindly ask you to stay by our side, so as to :

URGENT NEED: Psychological support in PUBLIC SCHOOLS: We need to motivate volunteers(in a period of an economic desaster, for every professional). to create more teams of psycnologists that will support parents, teachers and students in group therapy and face to face therapy..Almost 50% of students, in all public schools are refugees or even illigal immigrants, with many phsycological problems. In the meanwhile teachers can't easily find a common language to teach kids. In public schools, buyling, violence and selfharm are exposing.
develop an on- line therapy network for Youth and families on 2018 ωστε να εχουν την δυνατοτητα θεραπεας εφηβοι και νεοι ακομη και σε απομακρυσεμνες πολεις η σε αλλη χωρα. Οι νεοι μεταναστεουν.
Hire experienced therapists who can safetly cure more cases, train our therapists, hire experienced staff to oversee and monitor the project as of the most difficult project we have ever experienced. When nobody knows what selfinjury is, students are pointed, professionals have no training or experience, we need Scientific Training, to train the trainers in the UK on line & face to face. We need more rooms in the UK and in Greece to train, give hosting and therapies to Students who need it. The parallel need is to cure the depression and the anxiety and the poverty of the greek society, as matters that pushe youth to self injury . We try hard to tell people that selfharming IS NOT a resignation of life. It's a call for life!
create more rooms for therapy in Greece and in the UK so we train the therapists how to cure selfharming, as well as giving therapies in Greek language to all Chypriot and Greek Students in the UK and in Greece under the phisical and on line supervision of UK institutions and Universities, such as we have already started.
