Apwoyo Amazing Supporters!
I am feeling so energized after the trip to Uganda in July! What a wonderful experience to meet all of our new beneficiaries in person for the first time. The bond between our two countries is even stronger. There is one thing I know for certain, mothers around the world all have hopes and dreams for their children. It makes no difference where we live, we all want our children to have more opportunities and better lives than we have had.
During this trip, we did home visits for each of the women of The Ribe Project. I learned so much about each of these amazing ladies. First, the income they are able to count on from our organization has made a huge difference in their lives. That "difference" may vary slightly for each individual, but overall we know that children's school fees are being paid and their families are being fed each day. School fees are a huge hurdle for many Ugandan families to overcome, and the result often is that children are not able to attend school. Second, all of these women have a dream for themselves, an occupation that they would love to pursue. From farming to clothing resale, to catering, their hope is that The Ribe Project will one day offer microfinance loans to create a path to making these dreams come true.
I came away from this trip with a renewed sense of purpose and an increased feeling of responsibility. These women depend on The Ribe Project. Their families depend on us. Their future depends on us......they need and deserve our help, We cannot do this without you. Your donations are critical for our success. Rent, beneficiary payroll, and supplies used to make our amazing products, all of these things are connected to your support! We not only want to meet these basic needs but to also grow The Ribe Project to offer scholarship money for their children and microfinance loans for their small business dreams. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
To our existing monthly donors, bless you for allowing us to count on your donation. For those of you who have donated in the past, we thank you and ask that you consider becoming a monthly donor. If you are one of our valued supporters but have not yet donated, please help us to make a difference!
I close this report with much love and gratitude for many things; the strength and vision to begin the Ribe Project, the opportunity to know these amazing Ugandan women, and most of all for each of you and the support you show The Ribe Project.
Amari matek,
Brett
